Our “of the Olentangy” series aims to inform and engage our community with their regional watershed. These events are free and great for all ages!
In the Fourth of our “of the Olentangy” speaker series, Ohio Department of Natural Resources’, Christine Szymanski, will be joining us at the Terradise Nature Center to discuss the diversity of aquatic macro-invertebrates found inside the Olentangy watershed.
Christine is the Central Ohio Stream Quality Monitoring Coordinator.
Learn how the ODNR determines stream health by the types of animals we find using a kick seine and turning rocks. Free and open to the public. Wear clothing and closed-toe shoes that can get wet. Attending qualifies as first step to becoming a stream quality monitoring volunteer.
Be advised, access to the river from our property my be difficult for some of our guests due to steep entrances.
Join us on June 18th for Christine’s presentation and macro-invertebrate survey.
We are able to accommodate our guests best when we know whom to expect, please register for this event via the link below.
