Remembering Kensel Clutter

Kensel details his map of the Sandusky Plains.

It is with heavy hearts that we share with our community the passing of Terradise’s longtime friend and inspiration, Kensel Edward Clutter.

An accomplished serviceman and retired farmer, Kensel dedicated the last few decades to managing both the Claridon and Green Camp Abandoned Railroad Prairies, compiling species lists and collecting prairie specimen, sharing his seeds and experience to establish further prairie-land and mapping the Sandusky Plains and Owl Creek Trails.

Together, Trella and Kensel shared a kinship in the rich history of Marion County and a great passion for the preservation of our natural areas.

Kensel displayed a seemingly endless amount of energy in his 100 years. Each visit was met with bright eyes, a warm smile and, at the very least, a few minutes to catch you up on the research from his latest project.

Dear Friend, you will be remembered,

Terradise Staff & Board.
